Coming soon..a recap of my weekend in Boston attending a gay wedding! I am still recovering from spinning Aunt Carol around the dancefloor but once I recover, you shall know all the gay details.
ETA: Mon dieu, Aunt Carole really wore me out I guess. Alas, this week I have not been feeling too chatty and I seem to have developed a throat cold type thing. Thus, I'm a little slow on the uptake.
I will say this, it was a very lovely Jewish ceremony and it is possible that there were a few tears in my eyes. As you know, I very much support the right to get married and all the legal stuff that is necessary for equality for gay folks. I mean, duh. However, I'm not the marrying kind so it's not for me. But man, when two people you care about want to get married and have their special day, it's so great. Especially when their families and friends support them. Not everyone has that kind of support. So rather than go into the details of the wedding (I am feeling a bit private and protective of it now), I'd rather just remember the way they looked at each other and smiled at each other when they thought no one was looking. Utter happiness.

Hey babes...sounds like you and Aunt Carol had a blast. Can't wait to hear all about it. later.
I'm not the marrying kind
I wish you had told me this before our ill-fated Denmark marriage. "Wonderful, Wonderful Copenhagen" my ass!
Many congratulations to the happy couple! Thanks for sharing a tidbit with us...and for showing us that even though you're not the marrying kind, you're still a bit of a romantic at heart. :)
How wonderful...sweetie. I know what you mean about the two that are so much in love.
I am not the marrying kind either, unless the right person asked, that is. I've been asked 6 times and ran away all 6 times.
I dreamt of it as a child. You know, the huge Catholic wedding, white wedding dress, big big wedding cake and father giving me away. Misic, dancing...and honeymoon.
I came close once, when I was pregnant but that wasn't the right thing to do. He didn't know about my pregancy. I just couldn't marry him because I was going to have a child. I could raise my child on my own.
I didn't love him in that way when you look deeply into another's eyes and your heart wants to burst, it's so filled with love for her. I do now, though.
Sorry about the gabber. Have a nice weekend, sweetie pie.
SZJ: Except for the time when I as a child bride to Ms. Darkbloom, I have not been asked to the Big Prom and thus, not given the opportunity to decline. Oh wait, that isn't true. Once, an Iranian guy asked me to marry him for his greencard years and years ago. To this I said I must pass.
Viv: That romanticism you speak of is just a meloncholy shade of cynicism with a healthy dose of pleasant optimism and a dash of crushing realism. That mix is much like our absinthe cocktails from the 70s! Were it not for them, I would not have been your child bride in Denmark at all! *kiss kiss*
