SFB

Oh and this also happened yesterday:

I don't care what anyone says, do not fuck with Sue and LJ.

sorry mate

When Aussie's get mad:

Unfortunately, they came up short this year again, but worse news for my Storm is LJ having surgery after the Olys and will miss the rest of the season. Dang. I thought this might have been their year again. Oh well. And now gotta wait four more years before the Down Under unitards are worn again.

Mates

Obviously, the reason is sad, so I hate to say what I'm about to say b/c it's so shallow, but. Those matching black tape armbands LJ and Sue are wearing are fucking sexy. Um, I have a thing for arm/wrist band type things. Just sayin'.

Also, the Storm somehow backed their way into the playoffs despite the rollercoaster that has been their season. Shades of 2004? Let's hope..

4000

Ahh, indulging in my favorite Aussie*

LJ hits 4000, holla!

*who, you know, said hey to me in that accent** of hers at the Mystics game...jealous?

**speaking of sexy accents, along with Australian and Irish, I gotta say on record that I love the whole Canadian thing, eh?

Dress me like a clown*

Man, I'm bloggy these days. More to love, yeah? Or feel indifferent about. Whatever floats your boat. I'm going to be busy the next couple of nights and you'll be busy too, all wrapped up in your own stuff and we'll fall out of touch and soon enough the emails and phone calls will taper off and maybe we'll see each other once or twice over the years but let's face it, we lead busy lives but that doesn't mean we love each other any less, right? We'll always have Joplin, won't we? I miss you already... *sigh*

Hello, tangent! Anyway:

1. The DC Metro has paradoxically made me both more and less of a lesbian. I now value comfortable shoes so much so that sadly I notice footwear more than decolletage. And lord knows I love the ladies.

2. Tomorrow, I will be attending the Storm game against the Mystics. For the one WNBA fan out there (holla, 360!), you know I'm gonna get some pix of Birdy and LJ (aka OTP). Oh yeah!

I had one other thing to tell you but it's been lost in all this hubbub. Feel free to make up something salacious and/or prurient and/or hoosier-like that I'd probably share here. And with that, I tip my hat up to the great white north and bid you all a good day.

ETA (2 hours later): I remembered. Remind me to turn off the ice machine at work. I just got rid of the old funky ice and am making new sparkly ice for myself. Yeah, I'm treating myself like a queen these days. Splurging. Decadence unfettered in Arlington, VA. Bling Bling and whatnot. I just don't want a repeat of the Great Ice Debacle of '07, ok? Ok.

(Man, I kinda wish what I forgot had instead been salacious or even slightly titillating, I can almost hear the click of the <--Back button from here).

*which is totally a kickass song from that new mix of sparks that I'm digging on and you should too.

All-Stars

Holla! Yeah, so today I am going to the nationally televised at 330pm (EDT) WNBA All-Star game being held in this very city. Look for me, I'll be the one in the tshirt with now-gay hair. Oh wait, that would be all of us. I'll be bitching about my new haircut in another post I'm sure, so I'll spare you. Let me just say that Roxanne would be aghast. I have been told it doesn't look that bad, but I have my doubts. Full report and pictures when I return.

ETA: Ok, partial report: Game was awesome, had great seats, LJ rules. The end!

ps. I have some vids but no time to upload right now. Will come back and update. Because I know you can't wait. Don't lie.

pps. AND yet another Midwest Represent moment, the lady sitting next to us at California Burrito lives in Kansas City and she overheard us talking about it and gave us a high-five. We are everywhere.

ppss. I'm traveling tomorrow for work and will be in the lovely state of Kentucky for almost a week. Jealous?

W to the NBA

At last, my long national nightmare is over and we are about to begin the WNBA season. Thank god. I don't ask for (too) much in this world, but man, do I need my sports fix (I hate to be so stereotypical but fuck it). The summer can be long and cruel with all that endless tedious baseball business (sorry V) and you know, I tried watching hockey lately but it's lacking something..oh right, women and skin. Wee! Yeah, sometimes it comes to that for me with sports. Give me women's tennis and golf and basketball and I am happy. I actually enjoy the sports part of it, but I can't say that the eye candy doesn't come into play either. Sue me!

Speaking of Sue! My girls LJ and Sue Bird are back in Seattle and ready to rumble.

LJ!

Point and Post!

OTP!

Even though I'm a fan of Seattle, I now live in a WNBA town and can go to actual games. Granted, I don't particularly care for the Washington Mystics, I'll go anyway. I'm not too picky. I shall be heading out this Saturday for a game against the Connecticut Sun and what that means for me is Lindsay Whalen and Meg Mahoney.

Mock me if you must, but I'm gonna get my girl game on!

ps. If you are in the DC area and not crazy and go to the games and drink beer, drop me an email. Yes, it has come to that, soliciting WNBA friends via my blog!
