Captain HF

So did I mention that my sexy hair consultant from back home emailed me recently to tell me that she was sure that my hair looked like shit and that was my punishment for leaving her. Sad thing is, she's right! Gah, I have total hairfuck these days. It's long and stupid and with the humidity here in this godforsaken city, I just need to shave it all off and start again. Think that'd go over ok in CorporateWorld? Luckily, I have a haircut this Sat, unluckily, it is not with sexy hair consultant. Wish me luck.

I just got a drunk text from A and J and they are taunting me with all their talk of drinking and such. This is why I hate them and am glad I moved far far away. Why they think I would care to drink beer with them and hang out is beyond me. Frankly, they all just need to stop bawlbabying at me and crying over my not being there.

Oh, and it has been hot/hell here lately and yet...and yet, I have now seen a woman who commutes somewhere along my route wearing a full cape over her clothes. Like a Ren Faire cape tied around her neck, all billowy and whatnot. This over a long flowy dress and elf shoes (making total assumption about the shoes, but probably not too far off). Hey, I say, wear what you want, I don't judge, but seriously, a cape? In this weather? I can barely stand to wear a bra and panties (oohh, google search perverts, do you find me sexy?), let alone clothes over them. Then again, you know, I'm just not a "cape" person. My superpowers are more steathy/undercover and I don't like to call attention to my specialness. That's just me.

I have nothing more to say that has not been said before. So goodday to you!

what are you doing?

I joined Twitter, I don't know why. It's Friday night!

Not sure how it works completely but expect constant short text updates saying Arrested from an Egyptian prison or Drunk again from the gutter or Lost in space from Starbuck's bed. Anyway, I guess you can "follow me" somehow by clicking on the Twitter thing to the right. This technology thing, how you say? It puzzles me.

Bottom line: I promise to make them entertaining, succinct, and if at all possible, gay. Holla.

ps. I saw the cape lady today after work for the first time in a long time. Naturally, she was wearing her flowing cape (hence how I spotted her) and naturally, it was like the hottest day of the year so far at 80+ degrees. Perfect cape weather! I didn't know it was Renfaire season already. I've not received the memo.

pps. I am off this weekend to upstate NY for work so expect a hearty HIGH from there-ville.

hopelessly hopeful

Will this day/week/month/year/life ever end? The short answer is yes, thankfully. Man. I don't want to spend blogs and blogs bitching about being busy at work b/c that is on par with bitching about how much the Metro sucks (btw, saw the Cape Lady the other day - unlike this summer when I first spotted her, it was actually Cape Weather so I guess mocking her now would be totally unfair. I am nothing if not fair when it comes to mocking or not, as the case may be). One good thing about work that I will mention is that today (and on more occasions in the future), I got to venture to some government type buildings for meetings very near the Mall. Sometimes when I'm bitching about Dumb City, I forget that it actually exists b/c I spend so much time traveling underneath it. From work in our building across the river, I can see the Washington Monument and the Lincoln memorial and Thomas Jefferson's thing (Monticello? I don't recall). So I am going to make a commitment to actually come up for air once in a while and attempt to enjoy our nation's capital. It is the least I can do, bitching about it non-stop solves nothing. Mocking it is another story and that will continue unabated. Did you see the cape DC was wearing? Total RenFairy and gay!

That's it for now..things feel out of sorty here for a variety of reasons so I'm going to head to bed and call it a day, one more down in the grand scheme of days/weeks/months/years/lives.

Well there's one thing to know about this town, it's five hundred miles underground; and that's alright - Modest Mouse Night on the Sun

I spy...

Well.

On the orange line tonight, someone shit their pants (or produced an uncanny facsimile thereof). Nice. I changed cars at the next stop...to the car with the crying baby. It was at that point, I just turned up the Split Lip and gave up.

On the next leg of my journey, I recognized another commuter and added him to the list. He is now the Dennis Green Doppleganger and he joins Tall Asian iPod Guy and Circe Nightshade (aka "Cape Lady"). Yeah, I can see this Spot-A-Metro-Commuter becoming a regular feature here. (A variation might be Celebrity-Metro-Lookalike: I saw a Stevie Nicks on the redline yesterday. No shawl though and probably on her way to work at the Fajita Round-up. Holla, pip!)

And you wonder why I drink?

So this might be the last post before I leave for the weekend. I hardly need tell you how much I'm looking forward to this. I won't be sharing any salacious details of my Canadian exploits (sorry to disappoint my friends from the Middle East who routinely search for terms like "nippy fucky" and land on my blog). I will say, however, that said exploits will not only be salacious and libidinous, but also possibly gay. Like very very gay. And also the best. Ever.

And with that I bid you adieu!

Hi Lady, lovely cape you're wearing!

Well, thanks to Madame Ovary, I've been angsty and all out of sorts the last week or so. The days have been long and fraught with rollercoastery ups and downs, which I do not appreciate or celebrate. In fact, I will playa hate...on myself. Enough of this!

As a result, I have little to report except that I have turned the corner and tomorrow shall be a new day. Hello, fellow Metro commuters, you're looking good..sit closer! Good day to you, DC, love all 3 million of you! Top o' the morn, I-95, moving nice and slow I see! Never mind, the sun will come out, tomorrow...

Why yes, I do miss drugs, thanks for asking!
