But for the grace of god..

Sad news: Airplanecrashes in Toronto after returning from Paris. Our life is often determined by statistical probabilities, most of the time in our favor. It's only after you realize that you were statistically very close in time/space to an event that you start attributing your continued existence to luck. Determinism vs luck? Probability vs chance? Philosophy is left to the statistically lucky survivors.

ETA: Good news: No one was killed, everyone survived. What are the chances of that?
