Quick update
The Algerian Fool should be arriving up here sometime today, his mom lives not too far from me. He made it to Arkansas yesterday. Given the scary conditions down there w/ looters and such, I'm glad he's out. I also heard from my aunt that she saw pictures of her fishing cabin on Grand Isle and it was still there, but probably damaged. I'm surprised, I thought it would be totally wiped out. Then again, my uncle is a fantastic architect and built that thing to last. We had plans to go down there last October as a bit of a retreat, but the Agent was required to stay close to base b/c of the elections and thus, our trip was cancelled. I've been there once, when I took my mom down there for a Sister's Weekend, it's a lovely rustic cabin on stilts right near the beach. Lord knows when they'll be able to get back to normal..you can see Grand Isle here (or at least the way it used to be): Grand Isle, LA

Hey, it's fab to hear that your friend was able to get away to safety. Debbie and I feel so bad about all that is going on in NO, that we considered going there to help, but we would only be in the way of those that are trained for rescue. Though I am not fully trained I do have skills. My sisters, all six, would kill me if I did anything like that. My sis said she would worry if she wasn't there to keep an eye on me. After second thought we decide that the best thing right now is to support NO with donations and urge other to do the same. The news showed children crying. It breaks my heart.
